My TPT journey...
I started my TPT in 2018 and I posted two or three resources that I created for my own classroom. In 2018 I made $5.02. Yes, you read that right! 2019 was a little better with $200.19. From 2020-2021, I started adding a few more products that I used in my classroom (these are still my best sellers to this date). While this product was nowhere near perfect, it still earned me extra money without having to market or advertise at all. My totals for 2020 and 2021 were $1,345.66 and $1,343.26. An extra $1,300.00 a year was helpful to start paying off student loans and other bills, but I knew I could be making more.
It wasn't until mid-2022 that I started putting in more effort. I just finished my Master's Degree and wanted a passive income source to add to my income. I started adding products and I saw good results. In 2022 my total for the year was $6,101.15 and in 2023 I was at $8,323.00. Now, an extra $8,000 is incredible! While I was ecstatic to be making this extra money, I was determined to keep working on my TPT store.
I'm going to be honest with you- in the entire 5 years of my TPT journey (2018-2023), I had NO CLUE what I was doing. I was making any products I could think of and A LOT of them didn't sell because either the product, cover photos, or description was poor or because the market was too saturated.
Let's get to the good part of my journey selling on Teachers Pay Teachers!
At the beginning of 2024, I decided to invest in myself and my business. I knew that if I wanted to keep growing my TPT store, I would need some help. I was frustrated at first because it was impossible to find a high-quality TPT course at a reasonable price! I'm sorry, but I am NOT paying $500 for a course. I'm just not.
